Who doesn’t love leggings?! I know I love them and wear them all the time but have you ever tried velvet leggings?! Velvet leggings are so soft and super comfortable. They are perfect for the winter and the holidays! Something about velvet just screams Christmas for me. I am going to show you how to style velvet leggings three different ways! I hope this style session inspires you to grab some velvet leggings and inspire some of your looks!
Look 1 – Pair with a cropped sweater & booties
I paired my velvet leggings with a purple cropped cable knit sweater and patent leather booties! This would be a perfect casual weekend look. I would totally wear this running errands, going to brunch, heading to lunch and doing some Christmas shopping!
My velvet leggings are from Spanx! I got them in a size small and they are very fitted. Next time, I would probably size up so they are easier to get on. They are great quality and will for sure last. I love that they give the butt a little lift too! My boots are quite old but such go to boots with the block heel. And you cannot go wrong with a classic cable knit sweater. A cable knit sweater is for sure a closet staple. Mine is cropped which is a fun modern twist on a classic.

Look 2 – Pair with a casual jacket & combat boots
Next, I paired my velvet leggings with my favorite waterproof combat boots and the draped faux leather Spanx jacket! I love just throwing a casual jacket over velvet leggings. This jacket is for sure not warm enough for New England winters but perfect if it is not too cold out. I absolutely love my waterproof combat boots! They are not made for the snow as your feet will be pretty cold but great for the rain. You can still look cute and not ruin your boots. I tend to wear them when it is not raining also!
I sized up a half size in the boots so I could fit a thicker sock. Otherwise, they fit true to size. I am wearing a small in the draped jacket. The arms, which you cannot really see in this photo, are faux leather. The jacket is also long enough to cover your butt (which I love when I am wearing any type of leggings).

Look 3 – Pair with an oversized cardigan & mid calf boots
Pair your velvet leggings with an oversized cardigan and mid calf boots! I picked a white cardigan with embellished buttons but any color will go! You can totally wear any boot height you want too. I love this look for a dressed up cozy Christmas outfit.
My sweater is sold out but I found almost identical ones below. I am wearing a small but since it is oversized, I could have sized down. Tip – I love mid calf boots and I do not think they get as much love as knee high or over the knee boots but they are a classic boot height that will never go out of style. I found these ones years ago but I added others below!
